Just when we thought renting in Manchester was painful enough as it is, a recent study has well and truly solidified this with one of the most expensive streets in the UK located in the city. New analysis from property website Rightmove has unveiled the most expensive streets to buy and rent a home in the UK and Manchester is home to one of them.
Taking third place as one of the most expensive streets in the UK to rent a property outside of London is currently Manchester’s Deansgate. According to Rightmove, you will find properties on the city’s longest road costing around £3,766 per month on average.

Outside of London, the most expensive street to rent is London Road in Ascot, Berkshire, where on average a property is rented for £6,831 per month, almost double the rent of a property on Deansgate. Manor Road in Chigwell, Essex came second with an average monthly rent of £4,311 and as for the most expensive street in London to rent this went to Albion Street in Bayswater, West London, where properties on average are renting for £20,857 per month (that’s 5.5 times more expensive than your average Deansgate rental properties).
When it comes to the most expensive streets to buy in the UK, of course the capital came out on top with Buckingham Gate in Westminster taking first place, with an average asking price of £9,633,333. Old Avenue in Weybridge, Surrey, is currently the most expensive street to buy outside of London, with an average asking price of £2,633,333.
