The new service aims to cover 1 in 4 households.
Just as the hopes of finally getting a food delivery became even bleaker, Morrisons has shined a light at the end of the tunnel, developing a brand new service that will help thousands receive essential groceries during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Teaming up with popular food delivery service, Deliveroo, the new grocery offering will see over 130 Morrisons stores participating nationwide, offering a wide range of 70 grocery items to choose from within the Deliveroo app. The ‘menu’ of items will include a variety of necessities such as meat, vegetables, fruit and cupboard essentials such as pasta and tinned goods.
And if that didn’t sound like a lifesaver as it was, orders will also arrive in as little as 30 minutes – much handier than the current three-week waiting time for most supermarkets, as a result of increased demand. As with the majority of delivery services during the outbreak, the priority will remain on vulnerable customers and families, however, it will be available to access by all.
The partnership is temporarily available until the end of the COVID-19 outbreak, helping to feed the nation during this worrying time. All deliveries will be contact-free and left on customer’s doorsteps, as per Deliveroo’s latest guidelines.
