After Bee Network bus strikes earlier this month, Unite, the union representing workers in passenger transport, announced three additional dates set to impact travel across Greater Manchester, with more Bee Network strikes on the way. Over 2,000 workers involved in the dispute are employed by Stagecoach, Metroline Manchester and First Bus Rochdale – firms which are among those that make up the bus section of the integrated Bee Network.
The news of further strikes came shortly after Unite announced that a further 200 Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) workers were being balloted for industrial action over pay. Workers have voted to take additional strike action from September 30 to October 2, after Stagecoach, Metroline, and First “failed to come back to negotiations with an improved pay offer deemed acceptable to Unite members”, according to Unite.
Whilst many bus services will not run, some buses, as well as trams and trains will continue to operate as normal.

Which bus routes will run as normal?
Bolton and Wigan bus services will not be affected by the Bee Network strikes, alongside those not listed above. Ring and Ride/Local Link services will run as normal.
Trams and trains will still be running during the Bee Network strikes
Trams and trains are not affected by the Bee Network strike and will operate on the disrupted days however, services will be busier than normal. Customers can use their bus tickets and passes on board all tram services, and on Northern Rail routes through affected areas – tickets and passes will be accepted on the Greenfield to Piccadilly TransPennine Express service.
