Moovin Festival is back for another year in Stockport with an incredible lineup of acts across the August Bank Holiday weekend. They are once again taking over Whitebottom Farm, just a 30 minute drive away from Manchester City Centre, for a glorious weekend of camping and music. With impressive previous headliners like Naughty By Nature and Basement Jaxx, there were big boots to fill, and Moovin Festival hasn’t disappointed for 2022. Tickets are available here.
No matter what you’re music genre is, there’s something for you at this year’s festival. The variety and calibre of acts on the lineup is seriously impressive. Jazzy Jeff, Shy FX, Orbital, Sister Nancy, Sugarhill Gang, Seun Kuti & Egypt 80, and Louie Vega are just a few of the names on the lineup. This is a festival you will want to enjoy all three days of in full. And you’ll probably be wanting to book the following Tuesday off work too because it’s going to be a big one.
If you’re a fan of that traditional festival feel, Moovin Festival has you covered. There are plenty of ticketing options, including the option to get camping passes alongside your weekend tickets. So dust off those sleeping bags and check that old tent still works properly as the festival site is gorgeous. So gorgeous in fact it’s usually used as a wedding venue. If however, you don’t want to lug your tent down, that’s not a problem. There are a limited number of 4 and 6 man tents available for you to book made from cotton canvas and coming with a whole host of extras. They are all furnished with air mattresses, colourful rugs, throws, cushions, fairy lights, a low table and a lamp!
You can, of course, also get yourself day tickets or weekend tickets that skip the camping too.
You might end up regretting that once you arrive though. Upon entering the site through a magical canopy of trees, past a lake, you’ll be greeted by a breathtaking gorge – and maybe some waterfowl too. You could have the chance to take all of that gorgeous surrounding in at your own pace if you camp, but then again we all love our own beds – and showers. Also on offer throughout the weekend are some incredible food options, sustainably and ethically sourced, of course, as well as plenty of bars to get your hands on some new cocktails to try.
We can’t forget to mention the Moovin staple, the Barn Stage. It embodies the whole vibe of the festival. The stage is a large open sided cow shed with bales of hay to relax and chill on. It channels that energy of being eco-friendly and repurposing things to give them new leases of life. There are of course other stages and plenty of sound systems throughout the site keeping the vibes alive wherever you are.
With all of this in one place, your late August Bank Holiday plans have been made a little easier. So what are you waiting for? Get Moovin and get your tickets now.
