Manchester has become quite the hot spot for Michelin restaurants and incredible food of all cuisines, and now Michelin is pleased to announce that the 2024 restaurant selection ceremony for The Michelin Guide Great Britain and Ireland will be presented on Monday 5 February, taking place for the first time in Manchester, at the famous Midland Hotel.
The Michelin Guide Ceremony in Manchester, to which all the chefs running Michelin-Starred restaurants in Great Britain and Ireland will be invited, will see the announcement of not just the renowned Michelin Stars, but also the Michelin Green Stars, which recognise pioneers in the field of sustainable gastronomy, as well as a range of Special Awards celebrating outstanding industry professionals.
Gwendal Poullennec, International Director of The Michelin Guides, said: “We are honoured to be bringing our celebration of the finest British and Irish gastronomy to the welcoming and ever-evolving city of Manchester.
“The historic Midland Hotel – a long-standing jewel in the city’s architectural crown – is a venue befitting of the occasion. The Michelin Guide team are busy preparing an event that will do justice to the exceptional skill, dedication and hard work found across our industry.”
Last year, Mana continued its reign as the only Manchester restaurant with a Michelin Star, and throughout the year the Michelin Guide has gradually added Manchester restaurants to its roster, so we’re excited to see what the 2024 Michelin Guide Great Britain and Ireland brings.
The Michelin Guide Great Britain and Ireland 2024 launch ceremony will be broadcast live via the Michelin Guide YouTube channel, allowing everyone to share in the excitement of this prestigious event.
Immediately following the event, the new selection will be found on the Michelin Guide website and app. On these platforms, gourmets and travellers can access all the restaurants and hotels recommended by The Michelin Guide free of charge.
