Following the completion of essential track replacement work on the Oldham-Rochdale line, further tram improvement work is set to take place in Manchester city centre over the next few days. No trams will operate via Market Street or Shudehill between Monday 1st June and Tuesday 9th June.
This will then be followed by additional improvement work happening at other locations across the Bee Network over the coming months, with the most significant work being at Trafford Bar and Deansgate-Castlefield. While this work is carried out, there will be no trams on the Eccles, Trafford Centre or Altrincham lines for three weeks from Monday 13 July to Sunday 2 August.

When will improvement works take place at Market Street and Shudehill tram stops?
From Monday 1st June to Tuesday 9th June, improvement works will take place in Manchester city centre. During this time, no trams will operate via Market Street and Shudehill.
Tram services will resume via Market Street/Shudehill stops from the start of service on Wednesday 10 June.

Will there be any changes to tram services in Manchester whilst Market Street and Shudehill stops are closed?
Changes to the tram service include:
- All services from Altrincham will operate to Bury via Exchange Square. Not calling at Piccadilly Gardens, Piccadilly, Market Street and Shudehill.
- All services from Bury will operate to Altrincham via Exchange Square. Not calling at Piccadilly Gardens, Piccadilly, Market Street and Shudehill.
- Services from the Trafford Centre will operate to Etihad Campus.
- Services from Manchester Airport will operate to Victoria via Exchange Square.
For customers on the Bury and Altrincham lines, the easiest way to reach Manchester Piccadilly will be by changing trams at St Peter’s Square. You may need to change platforms for the right trams, see departure boards and signage on stop for more details.
Customers may need to change trams, take a short walk, or hop on the free bus 1 or 2 to continue their journey. Outside of free bus operating times, a replacement bus will operate between Piccadilly and Victoria.

Monday 1 to Saturday 6 June
Services will operate every 15 minutes:
- Bury – Altrincham via Exchange Square (every 7.5 minutes during peak times)
- Rochdale Town Centre – East Didsbury via Exchange Square
- Shaw & Crompton – East Didsbury via Exchange Square (peak times only)
- Victoria – Manchester Airport via Exchange Square
- Trafford Centre – Etihad Campus
- Eccles – Ashton-under-
From Monday to Friday, peak-time-only services will operate from 7am – 8pm. On Saturday only, peak-time-only services will operate from 9am – 6.30pm.
Sunday 7 June
Services will operate every 15 minutes:
- Bury – Altrincham via Exchange Square
- Piccadilly – East Didsbury
- Victoria – Manchester Airport via Exchange Square
- Trafford Centre – Etihad Campus
- Eccles – Ashton-under-Lyne
Additionally, no trams will operate on the Rochdale line.
Monday 8 to Tuesday 9 June
Services will operate every 15 minutes:
- Bury – Altrincham via Exchange Square (every 7.5 minutes during peak times)

Additional works on the Rochdale line
On Sunday 7th June, additional works will take place on the Rochdale line. During this time, no trams will operate between Victoria and Rochdale Town Centre.
A bus replacement service will operate between the affected stops. Tram services on the Rochdale line will resume from the start of service on Monday 8th June.
