Welcome to Costa Del Mancunia!
Been hibernating inside as the rain continues to pour day after day? Well, Mancunians rejoice, because the high temperatures and bright days that you may remember from early lockdown are set to return at long last.
In fact, according to the Met Office, Manchester is set to be hotter than Portugal this week, boasting highs of 29 degrees, followed by a couple of cooler days at 20-24 degrees. Time to step out of our dungeons!
Skies are predicted to be clear for the majority of Friday (this week’s hottest day), with 10-4pm expected to provide the perfect BBQ weather.
The Manc skies are expected to be blessed with sunshine from Thursday onwards, peeking its head out of usual cloud throughout the day before Friday’s big heatwave. Coastal areas are, of course, set to be a little cooler with some wind, however, if you’re planning a socially distanced stroll this week, you can rest assured the weather in the North will be on our side (for once).
While the UK lockdown restrictions have been lifted, social distancing remains in place, so if you’re planning a trip to Dovestone Reservoir and Formby Beach, it’s best to check out the National Trust’s social media channel beforehand to check they’re not too busy before setting off for the day. Otherwise, enjoy some alfresco dining in Manchester city centre – with plenty of bars and restaurants open again and taking advantage of the new open-air dining trend.
