One of Manchester’s most historic landmarks is preparing to welcome weddings and corporate gatherings for the first time in almost ten years. Manchester Town Hall, which has undergone extensive restoration under the ‘Our Town Hall Project’ since closing in 2018, will reopen to the public in 2027. Commercial events and wedding ceremonies are scheduled to begin in January 2028.

“The building has an identity that is inseparable from the city, and that gives an event here a very particular sense of place.”
Nick Harrison, General Manager of Manchester Town Hall, said: “Manchester Town Hall means so much to the city, and we can’t wait to help people make new memories in a building that already holds so many. The building has an identity that is inseparable from the city, and that gives an event here a very particular sense of place.
“For couples, there’s the opportunity to make their own history somewhere that is already part of the city’s story. For corporate clients, it offers a memorable setting with a strong Manchester connection. Our ambition is for the Town Hall to complement the city’s wider hospitality offer and give more people a reason to celebrate, meet and spend time here.”
