Back in December, a Manchester icon shut its doors forever. Ducie Street Warehouse was a classic for anyone looking for a classy brunch, nice glass of wine or a wholesome event of a weekend, but now it’s time for this stunning industrial building to resurrect with a new life as a bustling street food market, simply named Manchester Street Food.
What to expect at Manchester Street Food
The approved project, an offshoot of the company behind Edinburgh Street Food, includes transforming the ground floor of the 15,000 sq ft warehouse into a “curated street food venue that celebrates Manchester’s cultural diversity, culinary creativity and industrial heritage.” It aims to offer a selection of independent food vendors, communal dining spaces, and flexible events zones, “creating a vibrant destination for locals and visitors”. Developers say the design will be sensitive to the Grade II-listed building.

The project will see the large central bar and meeting rooms to the rear of the ground floor space of Ducie Street Warehouse removed. Plans also show the installation of 11 kitchens around the central seating area, and the food hall will also make use of the external terrace and two bars within Ducie Street Warehouse.
According to the official website, Manchester Street Food will retain Ducie Street Warehouse’s ‘Mini Cini‘, set to offer “short films, timeless gems and exclusive screenings”, 11 traders including iconic bites and local traders, alongside a self-service beer wall, games room with arcade vibes, and two bars offering classy cocktails and taproom vibes.

When will Manchester Street Food open?
According to the website, Manchester Street Food is set to open in spring 2026, so watch this space.
📍 Manchester Street Food will be located at the old Ducie Street Warehouse site, at Ducie St, Manchester M1 2TP.
