Board games bring families together (and often tear them apart) over the Christmas period, what with many being off work and generally one day blending into another. Now, just in time for the festive season, the iconic Monopoly has had a Mancunian makeover, and it’s perfect for Manc-loving families nationwide.
In this special edition of Monopoly, you’ll journey through the heart of Manchester, from its world-famous football stadiums to its rich musical heritage and thriving cultural scene. Buy, sell, and trade legendary locations like Deansgate, The Town Hall, and The Midland Hotel, as well as new hot spots that showcase the city’s ever-evolving charm.

Thanks to board game company Winning Moves, we can now work our way around town, without walking the entire length of Deansgate, and potentially gaining money along the way – which is unheard of…
Key features of the Manchester Monopoly board include:
- The brand new Manchester edition of Hasbro’s classic board game Monopoly is perfect for two to six players and makes a great gift for fans aged eight and up.
- Includes eight metal tokens: choose your favourite and take a tour of recognisable locations and landmarks, like Bridgewater Canal, Old Trafford and Market Street.

- Unique Manchester game board featuring local imagery and iconic sites.
- Build your Manchester empire: Buy up colour sets and use your Manchester themed Monopoly money to expand your empire by building houses and hotels.
- Will you outsmart your opponents? Watch out for Manchester themed Chance and Community Chest cards, which could help or hinder your chances of success!

The release of the Manchester version of Monopoly is partly in aid of Lifeshare, a voluntary organisation dedicated to supporting homeless and vulnerable people in Greater Manchester. They provide practical assistance, support, and information, helping individuals access initiatives that move their lives forward, as a first point of contact on the streets.
In an Instagram post, Lifeshare said: “So excited to announce we are featured on the new Monopoly Manchester board, launched this morning! We hope this will give us increased exposure and donations, to help us continue to support Manchester’s homeless.

“If you would like to purchase a board game, (it will make a great Christmas gift!) with all profits, if purchased from us, going to Lifeshare, please get in touch via our bio.”
