It may not officially be Autumn yet, but Manchester already has Christmas on the brain.
You may think it’s a tad early to be talking about Christmas, and if that’s the case you’re completely wrong. Manchester City Council has revealed the dates for this year’s Christmas market which means the city is officially on the countdown to Christmas!
A spokesman for the council said the Christmas Markets will return to Albert Square this year from November 9 until December 22.
The markets will see the city filled with international food and drink, provided by Manchester’s finest street food vendors and crafters. As well as more than 300 stalls, beautifully festooned (any excuse to use that word) chalets which will be spread across the city centre and the famous windmill bars.
Visitors will be invited to soak up the atmosphere and follow the market trail as it winds through the city centre, bursting with crafts, jewellery, food and toys. From bratwurst to bonsai trees, mulled wine and mulled gin, shimmering rose gold prosecco, espresso martinis, grilled cheese sandwiches, to hot gooey cookie dough and Dutch Frites, there’s something to suit everybody’s tastes.
In addition to fabulous food, drink and crafters, there will also be a family area, complete with an ice rink and ice village, as well as stunning carved sculptures celebrating Christmas in our great city!
Booking information for the ice rink and village will be released in the near future. The Christmas markets are free to visit and accessible to all.
