The spectacular sandpit, complete with 50 tonnes of sand, wood rounds and a giant deckchair, will return to the warehouse’s iconic amphitheatre following thousands of visits from families during summer 2018.
This event will mark the start of a summer of fantastic activities on site, including monthly markets beginning on Sunday (May 5), play sessions, a ‘yogathon’ and more. Visitors to On the Beach’s Great Northern Summer will also have the opportunity to win a £1000 On the Beach holiday voucher.
Mark Schofield, Centre Director for Great Northern said:
“Following last year’s successful launch, which brought huge numbers of families to the Great Northern during the scorching summer, we’re delighted to bring our sandpit back for 2019 – and in time for our Mancunian May Fair.
“The team here is excited to once again welcome children to enjoy safe, free play any day between now and the end of the school holidays.”
Alan Harding, Marketing Director at On the Beach said:
“As the beach holiday specialists, it was fantastic to bring a little bit of the beach to Manchester last year. We’re delighted to be working with the Great Northern once again to create a fabulous outdoor space where families can get together and children can experience a little of the beach in the heart of the city.
“We’re sure that On the Beach’s Great Northern Summer will prove incredibly popular and get Manchester residents and visitors alike in the mood for their summer holidays”
