Things have been pretty dry and pleasant in Manchester on the weather front of late, and we’re thrilled to say that it’s set to continue for the foreseeable future. That means beer garden sessions, outdoor gigs and serene canal walks are all on the cards – in fact, this weekend Manchester is set to be hotter than the stunning coastal Italian city of Sorrento, as temperatures are forecast to soar.
According to the Met Office, Manchester will reach a pleasant 22°C this Saturday 25 April, compared to Sorrento’s measly 21°C… of course, we jest, but for us 22°C is pretty strong especially for this time of year.

Met Office forecast
The official Met Office weather forecast for the North West is as follows:
Thursday 23 April
After early morning cloud clears, another bright and sunny day will follow for all. Winds lighter than Thursday allowing temperatures to climb further. UV levels will also be high. Maximum temperature 20°C.
Outlook for Friday to Sunday
Staying warm and sunny into the weekend with light winds. Likely to be more cloud on Sunday which will allow temperatures to dip slightly.
What does this mean for hay fever sufferers?

With warmer weather comes the threat of that pesky pollen, and whilst we love it for the bees, many of us do suffer with all-encompassing hay fever. With this spike in temperatures we’re expecting the shift from birch pollen to oak pollen to hit us like a tonne of bricks, and like the rest of the UK the Met Office is forecasting high levels for Greater Manchester over the weekend.
Luckily, we won’t be as affected as Northern Ireland and southern Scotland, where the pollen forecast is very high – but you’ll still want to make sure you’re taking preventative measures and remember you can always go inside, cool down and have a shower to wash all the pollen away. We feel you.
