As soon as the weather takes a turn for the better here in Manchester, you can bet we’re heading for the beer garden. If the same goes for you, you’ll want to bet on finishing work a tad early to soak up the rays tomorrow (18 March), because Manchester is set to be drenched in sunshine, even topping temperatures in the gorgeous Corfu this week.
The Met Office forecasts a whopping 19°C between the hours of 2pm and 4pm in Manchester – perfect for an early pint or cheeky ice cream – which frankly embarrasses Kerkyra (Corfu) at 14°C-15°C, under sustained cloud.

We’re feeling pretty toasty already here in Manchester, but it’s set to get even warmer, with essentially wall-to-wall sunshine on the way. For the night and days to come, the Met Office forecasts for Manchester:
Tonight (17 March)
A dry evening, with clear spells. Cloud tending to increase across Cumbria overnight, with some drizzle over the hills. A few fog patches forming where skies remain clear overnight. Minimum temperature 4°C.
Wednesday (18 March)
After a chilly start, a sunny day is expected for many. Morning cloud across Cumbria should also lift and break to allow plenty of sunshine. Feeling warm, with light winds.
With a gentle southerly breeze and not much cloud to speak of, temperatures in Manchester are set to fall to just 10°C during the night, too, laying the groundwork for a similar day on Thursday – though temperatures are not set to exceed 17°C. Still warm for us, but not as much of a scorcher.

Comparatively, Corfu is set to see a fair bit of drizzle and temperatures lingering around the 10°C or 11°C mark – hardly summer holiday material. OK, we’re being a bit silly with the comparison, but cold hard facts don’t lie, and Manchester will be hotter than Corfu… officially.
