Manchester’s Christmas Markets open today, Friday 6th November, and if the weather turns, there’s now a themed way to stay warm. The city has launched its first-ever range of festive jumpers, hats and scarves, sold only at the Albert Square market.
The design for Manchester Christmas Markets jumpers, scarves and hats
The designs put Manchester’s giant Santa front and centre. He appears in a colourful retro scene with fir trees, ribbon-tied presents and the Town Hall clock tower behind him, as snow falls on the city at night.

The jumper carries Santa on the front and on both sleeves, with snowflakes, fir trees and the words “Manchester Christmas Markets” across the back. The hat has a bright red pom-pom. The scarf adds a reindeer with fairy lights woven through its antlers, plus a snowman.
The council’s in-house design studio created the artwork, which matches the design on this year’s Christmas mugs. A matching tote bag completes the range.

Prices and where to buy Manchester Christmas Markets knitwear range
The limited-edition range is available exclusively from The Manchester Shop stall on Albert Square. Jumpers come in sizes XS to 4XL.
Jumpers: £45
Hats: £20
Scarves: £20
Tote bags: £10
Stock is limited, so if you have your eye on a jumper, go early. Councillor Garry Bridges, Leader of Manchester City Council, said the idea came from combining two market favourites: the Christmas mugs and the giant Santa.

Key dates for this Christmas
The markets will run at ten locations across the city until Tuesday 22 December. Albert Square and Cathedral Gardens stay open through the festive season until Sunday 3 January 2027.
Alongside the stalls, the Skate Manchester Ice Rink in Cathedral Gardens and the Giant Ferris Wheel in Albert Square both open today and run until 3 January. Families with young children can also mark Sunday 6 December in the diary for the Manchester Christmas Parade.
