Update: Tickets for this event are now sold out but you can find out about other upcoming 360 events here.
Disco doesn’t get much better than this: iconic R&B singer and Somebody Else’s Guy hitmaker Jocelyn Brown will be blessing the eardrums of anyone who attends the glittering Manchester 360° event on March 31. Unfolding in Manchester Cathedral, the combination of infectiously fun disco music and striking centuries-old architecture will make for a night to remember. Make sure to put on your dancing shoes, round up your friends and brush up on your best moves as you’ll no doubt be killing it on the dancefloor from the very first to the very last note played.
Manchester 360° promises an unforgettable time in a fantastically unique setting. You can follow in the sparkling footsteps of many disco lovers before you, who have danced the night away in extraordinary venues such as an emptied-out Edwardian pool, a sunset-soaked rooftop in Paris and even under the gleaming wings of a rare Concorde plane. Manchester Cathedral has already played host to some epic 360 events – with live sets from the likes of John Digweed and Sasha – and now the 15th-century church will be welcoming beloved vocalist Jocelyn Brown (plus Soul Boutique, Bombard Groove and more) through its gothic doors this March. Trust us, you won’t want to miss this.
What can you expect at Manchester 360°?
The 360° element is what makes this event so unique, with the centralised stage making sure there’s no need to climb on shoulders or jump for a sneak peek of the action, as no matter where you stand you’ll have a perfect view of the artist. The music won’t be the only thing filling the hallowed halls, as you can expect a mesmerising projection mapping and a killer light show to illuminate the frescoed ceilings, medieval furnishings and gilded detailing of the cathedral.
This March, Jocelyn Brown and her sensational vocals will be providing the live soundtrack to your night. The legendary American singer’s passion for music started when she sang with the gospel choirs in church, before going on to join a funk and disco group based in New York. Later, after developing her vocals on numerous records throughout the 70s, Brown rocketed up the Billboard R&B Singles Chart when she released the single ‘Somebody Elses Guy’ which she also co-wrote. It peaked at number two and showcased how fabulously her powerful, goosebump-inducing vocals paired with funky beats and dance-inducing rhythms. With numerous hits on the dance music charts under her belt, she will now be treating you to a night of disco and dancing under the ornate ceilings of Manchester Cathedral.
Manchester 360° will take over the cathedral from 5pm to 11pm, with the last entry at 7pm, so you can expect to be dancing all night long – even after you head home and crash out on the bed you’ll still be tapping your toes and shimmying in your sleep. Plus, the age requirement is 21 and over so there won’t be any risk of tripping over little ones. What are you waiting for? Sign up to the waitlist today to make sure you don’t miss out.
