Macaroni and cheese. It’s the holy grail of all beige dishes if you ask us. I mean, what’s not to like? Pasta – check. Bechamel – check. A whole lotta cheese? Check, check, check. But while I’m sure the majority of us can agree in unison that it is, most certainly, a God tier dish – it strangely hasn’t been that widely available here in Manchester. Sure, you can pick it up as a small side dish at a number of American restaurants in town, but where can you really indulge in a big old bowl of mac & cheese on the go? Mac & Co has the answer to that very question.
Quietly launching in the Arndale’s Halle Place, Mac & Co is the newest vendor to arrive on the scene from London, bringing a mouthwatering menu of mac and cheese dishes for Mancs to enjoy.
From the classic house mac made with a secret three-cheese recipe to pimped up bowls topped with crispy bacon, crispy chilli chicken, pulled pork and smoky BBQ sauce, chorizo and roasted mushroom with truffle, guests are absolutely spoiled for choice when dining at Mac & Co.
The menu is inspired by the founder’s travels to New York City, where they found the dish was widely celebrated as an American institution (despite its Italian heritage). From there, they created their “devilishly addictive” cheesy elixir, which has resulted in an array of signature recipes that can now be enjoyed across London, Bradford, Brighton, Nottingham and now, of course, Manchester.
Expect plentiful cheese, great portions and top-quality toppings at Mac & Co, alongside space to dine in and availability on Deliveroo, too, if you don’t feel like leaving the house for your comfort food fix. Mac & Co can be found at Halle Place inside the Arndale shopping centre.
