As part of world breastfeeding week, Lunya wants to remind breastfeeding mums that they are entitled to a free drink in the restaurant – all year round.
Described as Manchester’s little corner of Catalunya, the family-owned restaurant aims to create a relaxed ‘home from home’ feeling where guests can enjoy their food without fuss – just like in Spain.
The restaurant, based in Manchester’s Barton Arcade, prides itself on its family-friendly dining experience, which is something owners Peter and Elaine Kinsella want to ensure includes breastfeeding mums.
Elaine felt that it was important to support new mums and ensure they felt comfortable feeding in the restaurant, which is why she introduced their ‘free drink for breastfeeding Mums’ policy.
She said:
“From the first day we opened we have offered all breastfeeding mothers a free drink in our restaurant, we want them to feel welcome, comfortable and happy whilst they are feeding their baby. We get a lot of positive feedback about this from all our customers and we’re proud of our commitment in this respect.”
World Breastfeeding Week is August 1-7 and is all about promoting the benefits of breastfeeding from birth and ensuring that breastfeeding is supported globally.
