We hate to be the bearers of bad news, but one of the most beloved Mexican spots in Manchester, Liquor & Burn, has announced that it will be closing. The lively restaurant and bar has been a mainstay in the Northern Quarter for more than a decade, and announced its closure on Instagram.
The Liquor & Burn Instagram account said in a post: “It has been a blast serving you all for over a decade, however, all good things must come to an end. We will be closing our doors for the final time this Sunday, August 25th.
“It will be emotional to say goodbye so let’s end it on a banger! Loads of food and not nearly enough margs. Let’s get messy! Mucho amor, L+B.”
Liquor & Burn have stated that they’ll only be taking walk-ins from now, and everyone, whether loyal customers or those who have always wanted to try it, is most definitely welcome for their last hurrah before closing.
The post also stated: “Despite the sad news, exciting things will be happening with the venue”, so we’re pretty pumped for what’s to come. The post also said “bye for now”… so you can’t blame us for hoping they come back in some form or another in the future.
So, until the Liquor & Burn doors close for good on Sunday, show them all the love. The margs will be as incredible as always, and their tacos, burritos and nachos just hit different, with fillings including beef, shrimp, chicken, veggies and other bits and bobs you’d never believe.
Grab a paloma and an ice cold beer, and raise a glass to the wonderful Liquor & Burn, closing after Sunday service.
