Lightopia Confirms A Grand Return To Heaton Park This Winter, Bringing Christmas Magic Once Again

Lightopia is returning for 2021.

Ok, so the sun might have only just made its appearance for the summer, but Lightopia is bringing Christmas in July vibes this week, announcing the grand return of their beloved Christmas light show.

Returning to Heaton Park for the third year running, the family-friendly event is set to bring a brand new enchanting light and lantern festival for this year’s ‘Christmas Fantasy’, which will include a ‘never-seen-before’ illuminated trail with some very special features.

Set to be a completely immersive affair for Mancs of all ages, guests will be welcomed by the magical Gate of Guardians, before entering a multi-sensory world of mythical creatures and mesmerising light installations. From shimmering walkways and huge projections, to a magical lit-up 9ft Christmas tree and a giant bauble – there’ll be plenty of pretty things to see this year, including the new addition of the Magic Circus, where guests will get to enjoy interactive clowns, magicians and animals brought to life by illumination.

Other highlights this year will include a glowing ‘time tunnel’, a Fantasy Forest, Candy Land, lit-up Manchester bees, and even a state-of-the-art lakeside water show.

Ian Xiang, Creative Director of Lightopia, says: “We are excited to bring a brand new Lightopia concept to Manchester this winter, a fantasy world that has never been seen before. Lightopia 2021 will be a dream world adventure, for families and friends to escape to this Christmas.

“We want our guests to become part of this new fantasy Lightopia experience, as they interact and engage with the luminescent sculptures that trail through Heaton Park.”

Creative Designer for Lightopia, Ava Moradi added: “This year, Lightopia will bring new artistic illuminated displays with unique fantasy-themed installations and light shows. My main focus as an artist is for this immersive light experience to bring happiness and joy; making this festive day out a go-to place for friends and family to celebrate together through the magical trail.”

Pre-sale is open now with 20% off, and general ticket release will open on 28th July. Lightopia will be opening its doors at Heaton Park on November 19th until January 3rd, from 5pm til 10pm daily. Find out more and sign up for pre-sale here.
