Manchester’s destination hub, Ducie Street Warehouse, will close its doors on Monday, 15th December, as the ground floor space will be transformed into an all-new concept set to launch in 2026. The building on Ducie Street currently houses restaurants, a gym, and a cinema room, as well as a 194-bedroom aparthotel on the upper floors – but it won’t be saying goodbye without a party.
In true Ducie Street style, the Last Night of Ducie Street party is set to send off one of Manchester’s favourites with an all-out extravaganza. And what’s more, it’s completely free.

What will be replacing Ducie Street Warehouse?

The recently approved project – called Manchester Street Food, an offshoot of the company behind Edinburgh Street Food – proposed transforming the ground floor of the 15,000 sq ft warehouse into a “curated street food venue that celebrates Manchester’s cultural diversity, culinary creativity and industrial heritage.” It aims to offer a selection of independent food vendors, communal dining spaces, and flexible events zones, “creating a vibrant destination for locals and visitors”. Developers say the design will be sensitive to the Grade II-listed building.
The project will see the large central bar and meeting rooms to the rear of the ground floor space of Ducie Street Warehouse removed. Plans also show the installation of 10 kitchens around the central seating area, and the food hall will also make use of the external terrace and two bars within Ducie Street Warehouse.
