With the countdown to Christmas now well and truly on, Heaton Park in north Manchester has announced a jam-packed programme of seasonal events on offer from now until the big day, and featuring Christmas markets for the first time ever. Stalls will fill the Stables Courtyard every weekend from December 3 until Christmas, and with an enchanting Santa’s Grotto for the youngsters, and festive film screenings for all the family- there’s lots to see and do for everyone at this Manchester park.
Councillor Lee Ann Igbon, Executive Member for Vibrant Neighbourhoods, said: “Manchester is the capital of Christmas and the whole city always gets involved in the festive season. Festive cheer has taken over Heaton Park this year- with film screenings, craft sessions, festive tipples and of course, markets. It’s great that Heaton Park is embracing Christmas and, is the place to be for families and the little ones.”

Christmas Markets at Heaton Park
For the first time ever, Heaton Park will be welcoming a Christmas Market filled with treats for Christmas present hunters. From upcycled bird feeders, embroidery art and Manchester-made gin there’s a wide range of local traders serving up an array of wonderful gifts at the weekend markets. Heaton Park’s markets will run from this weekend and, will continue every weekend up until Christmas and will be located in the Stables Courtyard next to the animal centre.
Festive film screenings at Heaton Park
Families are invited to enjoy free screenings of festive film favourites under the Hayloft in the beautifully decorated Stables Courtyard. The film screenings will be perfect for the whole family to relax, enjoy festive films and indulge in the cosy vibes- just bring blankets and popcorn. Films will be shown between 11am and 3pm every weekend, they are shown on loop and changed intermittently.
Santa’s Grotto at Heaton Park
Perfect for little ones- Santa and his elves will be taking a break from Christmas duties to visit children at the Heaton Park Garden Centre. Santa’s grotto will arrive in the garden centre from the December 3 and will depart on the December 23 – make sure you don’t miss him, by booking online. As well as getting a gift from Santa Claus himself, youngsters will be invited to join in the Santa experience by planting a Christmas tree and listening to Santa read them a story. festive themed food and drink for park go-ers. Complete with a new covered outside area, there’s an array of foodie treats and warm drinks to keep everyone in the festive spirit this Christmas.
