It’s the closest thing Manchester has to a beach…
Bringing summer vibes back to the city, Great Northern Warehouse has reopened its huge sandpit – and it comes at the perfect time as the city returns to its former glory.
The space will continue to remain free and family-friendly, with social distancing markers now in place to help keep us COVID safe. Not only that, but the lovely playhouse has also had a re-vamp, being transformed into a creative play area for kids to enjoy over the summer holidays. All toys have been removed to ensure the safety of children, however, guests are welcome to bring their own.
The popular outdoor space is one of the best family spots in Manchester to enjoy the sunshine, particularly for families, and this year, guests can benefit from the free-to-use picnic benches that have been provided – or, of course, pre-book a table at one of the Great Northern’s restaurants, Almost Famous, Impossible, All Star Lanes and Evuna.
Speaking of the re-opening, Centre Director Mark Schofield said: “We are proud to provide an outdoor space in the community for families to enjoy. You can never count on the weather here in Manchester, but when it is sunny we know that young families count on free spaces like this for children to play in.
“It’s been a tough few months for everybody having to stay indoors, but now that summer is here we hope that visitors will be able to make the most of our sandpit and playhouse, as well as visit some of our amazing bars and restaurants which also recently reopened.”
