We’re very well-versed in pubs crawls here in Manchester, whether it’s the Didsbury Dozen, the Ale Trail or our very own oldest pubs crawl. One more local pub crawl that has been pretty well gatekept is the Eccles ‘Golden Mile’, boasting 15 boozers along a one mile stretch, rivalling its Didsbury counterpart โ with generally cheaper options.
Stretching from the bridge on Barton Road to the tram stop on Regent Street, there is a spread of pubs and bars old, new and in between spread across an exact mile of Eccles and Patricroft, and its popularity has been growing. It doesn’t matter which way round you decide to visit these Eccles spots, but here are the 15 pubs along the Golden Mile:

With just one Wetherspoons and a few Joseph Holt pubs, the Golden Mile pub crawl really is the pride of Eccles, showcasing local hospitality and some pretty impressive pints along the way. Plus, we hear on the grapevine that the people of Eccles are a right laugh, so if you manage to pin down a landlord for a chat whilst you’re there, you’ll have the whole package.
So, why not have a day out in Eccles and tick these off as you go?
