An art trail made up of giant frogs will be hopping into Stockport town centre this summer.
Last year we had the Bee in the City trail, this year we’ve got frogs! From June 29th, Stockport’s Business Improvement District, Totally Stockport, will celebrate Stockport’s future with the launch of a unique and engaging brand new Art Trail– Stockport Frogs.

The giant frogs will be leaping onto giant lily pads strategically located throughout the town centre, including St Peter’s Square and Market Place, creating an engaging and vibrant, outdoor art trail. Like last year’s bees, each frog will be unique, designed and painted by local artists, schools and community groups and sponsored by local businesses.
The trail will be made up of 19 frogs with names like KermIT (the dapper digital dude), Mrs Mersey – the Hoppy Shopper, This Little Froggy Went to Market and more. People of all ages are being invited to explore the town and seek out all the frogs, just like they did with last summer’s Bee in the City trail, where 101 sculptures were spread across Manchester city centre and in surrounding suburbs.
A spokesman for Totally Stockport said the £1bn regeneration plan is set to pave the way for investment, development and growth in the town. The spokesman said it will be a giant leap forward for Stockport, creating exciting opportunities for business and a destination of choice for residents and visitors.

“This is a huge project for Stockport and we’ve been planning the Giant Leap Forward Art Trail since last year. We have been overwhelmed with the positive response we have had from our partners, businesses, community groups and potential artists.”
“The project is designed to increase town centre footfall, to promote Stockport and the businesses located here as well as to support local groups, including the youth community who are after all tomorrow’s giant leapers.
“This is a great opportunity for businesses to get noticed: outdoor advertising with a difference and a unique PR opportunity across multi-channels”.
The project is designed to increase town centre footfall, to promote Stockport, to support local youth community – tomorrow’s giant leapers, the spokesman said.
Frogs will be auctioned for charity in October to create Giant Leap legacy fund. For more information on the Giant Leap Art Trail click here.
