If it hasn’t been your day, your week, your month, or even your year — Friendsfest will be there for you.
Let’s face it, it hasn’t really been anyone’s year, so we all need someone there for us. Happily, FriendsFest is making a triumphant return to Manchester this summer, offering premium selfie opportunities for fans to explore (and geek out over) sets from the world’s favourite sitcom. You can find tickets here, or read on for more.
FriendsFest is returning to its former home for the summer tour, as you’ll find it on Heaton Park between July 30th – August 15th. The installation will feature Monica’s apartment, Ross’ apartment, Chandler and Joey’s apartment, and, of course, Central Perk. It’s a prime opportunity to clamber all over a bit of TV history — and capture that perfect ‘gram.
Guests will be able to act out their favourite moments from the show, whether that be imitating the opening credits by the fountain, or screaming ‘PIVOT!’ at one another in the stairway that was once home to that scene. Exciting new treats for 2021 include digital photo opportunities to re-enact the whole ‘Could I BE wearing any more clothes’ moment, and a green screen GIF booth, where you and your pals can create GIFs such as the turkey head dance and The Routine.
FriendFest also plans to host interactive Friends quizzes – perhaps the only time where not scoring 100% will be considered a disappointment… Making use of Heaton Park’s plentiful outdoor spaces, the site will feature a big screen to catch the best moments from the TV show, along with street food vendors and bars. You’ll also be able to get your hands on much-coveted merchandise that’s exclusive to FriendsFest, and for the first time ever, you can pre-order some of the most popular items when you book your ticket. Should prevent any tears when Hugsy sells out!
Since FriendsFest is an outdoor attraction, it’s been given the green light to go ahead this summer, thanks to the move into Step 3 of the government’s roadmap out of lockdown. Tickets for FriendsFest tend to sell out rapidly, so if you’re planning on going, it’s advisable to book as soon as you can. You never know, you might even lock eyes with your lobster from across the Central Perk set…
