A Great British Food Festival Is Coming To The North-West… Twice!

Great British Food Festival

An outdoor celebration of all things foodie is coming to the Manchester area.

The Great British Food Festival is set to arrive at Stoneyhurst College in Clitheroe this bank holiday weekend (August 25-27) and then returns to Arley Hall & Gardens in Cheshire a month later (Sep 22-23).

Street Food Burger Festival

Organisers are promising a smorgasbord of street eats from authentic curries to mouthwatering burgers, along with an artisan market to amass supplies from Britain’s best small-batch producers.

But there are plenty of events to check out too! There are chef demos to inspire your next culinary experiment – including sessions from GBBO finalists – and the festival even hosts its own epic Bake Off competition, so bring along a creation and see how the judges rate your ganache.

Cake Festival

If you’re rather better at eating than cooking, you can still join in the fun and take part in of the festival’s epic eating challenges. It’s your chance to find out precisely how much sausage you can swallow in six minutes and seconds… (74.5 inches is the record, FYI.)

Kids can have a crack at cooking classes, circus workshops, drumming circles and treasure hunts among other family-friendly activities, which is more than enough for them to work up an appetite. (And if you’re really lucky you might even get a cheesecake out of it!)

Adult tickets are from £7.20, kids from £4.50, available from Fever: book tickets now for the Stoneyhurst College event or the Arley Hall event.
