Festival season is fast approaching; those precious times where you can dance with strangers in a field all day, sip your first beer at breakfast and sing along to live music until your lungs give out – with nobody batting an eye. Flashback Festival promises all those sun-soaked shenanigans with a heady dose of dance music nostalgia to sweeten the deal.
Coming to Manchester on May 21, the festival caters to lovers of all things techno, garage, house, trance and more. Those of you who perfectly anticipate an impending bass drop and frequently find yourself among the last ones on the dance-floor will be in their element – especially if you credit the nineties and noughties with being the golden days of dance music, as this event will transport you back in time with all your favourites from the decades.
There will be over 60 artists and DJs taking to the stage over the course of the day, each one sure to get the crowds on their feet. The lineup is crammed full of big names from the genre, including Example, Tinchy Stryder, Artful Dodger, Tulisa, 2Unlimited, Baby D and many, many more.
You can expect all the classic clubland bangers and old-school dance hits to be pumping from speakers when Flashback Festival kicks off; rippling through the blades of grass in Platt Fields Park and maybe even spilling into the streets of Manchester. Don’t be surprised if you spy a few people throughout the city grooving along to the faint beats on the day, we all know dance music can be pretty catchy.
Of course, no festival is complete without a few fairground rides to spice things up. If the euphoric trance music has got your head up in the clouds and you’re not looking to come down any time soon, then why not jump on a ride to keep the good times going? Or you can keep your feet firmly on the ground and just stroll over to one of the many food or drink stalls that will keep you fuelled up ready to bust some moves.
Flashback Festival will be arriving in Manchester very soon so make sure to grab tickets quick. In the blink of an eye it will be the day of the event and you’ll be strolling out the door in your comfiest dancing shoes (you’ll thank yourself for it later), following the vibrant crowds through the gates and grabbing a prime spot in front of the stage so you can be in the thick of it when the music starts.
