Wellness has become a huge practice in our culture, and now we can access it better than ever here in Manchester. A brand new concept to the UK, FIX MCR has been working closely with local therapists, psychologists, and wellbeing specialists to curate their range of guided sessions through the hot and the cold.
This intimate, indulgent space is the ultimate city escape. Boasting the UK’s largest sauna, two large socially designed ice baths and luxurious community spaces, the studio is the first of its kind in the city centre. Tucked away discreetly on Newton Street, just a short walk from Piccadilly Station, the atmospheric underground studio offers a range of guided and free flow sessions.
Expect breathwork, sound healing, stretching, meditation, reflexology, self massage, aromatherapy and much more to be part of their themed guided sessions. Their free flow sessions will be offered at the new space to allow visitors to navigate through the sauna and ice bath in their own time.
Sober socials will also be held on the weekends, providing an alternative to the traditional Manchester nightlife. The combination of the comforting heat of the sauna and exhilarating chill of the ice brings a number of health benefits − from tension relief to improved flexibility, enhanced mood, pain relief, reduced inflammation, and aided recovery.
James Fielding, the wellness seeker who founded FIX MCR, was inspired to launch the studio after searching for a new wellbeing practice and uncovering the profound effect the combination of incorporating breath, heat and cold had on combating his anxiety.
James said: “When I realised there wasn’t a facility offering wellness practices like this in Manchester, I began building the concept of FIX.
“I’d been fortunate enough to work remotely for a year in Bali where I was exposed to some amazing wellness facilities. The experience had such a profound impact on my day-to-day happiness and I felt driven by the desire to create a facility that could bring the same happiness to others in Manchester.
“I travelled all around the world – from Europe, to America and Canada – researching and taking inspiration from some of the best facilities. When I returned to Manchester, I began speaking with local wellness experts to design guided sessions that incorporated the hot and cold – that’s where FIX was born.”
James added: “Through ancient practices and modern amenities, we’re looking to create a community in Manchester who want to embrace healthier lifestyles and find inner peace amidst the chaos of the modern world. We can’t wait to welcome you down.”
FIX MCR is set to be open to the public from October 4.
📍 FIX MCR will be located at 45 Newton St, Manchester M1 1FT.
