Having become one of Manchester’s greatest musical exports, Elbow has played for audiences far and wide, but now the band has announced a gig very close to home, at the wonderful Castlefield Bowl. As part of the Sounds of the City concert series in 2025, Elbow will play a very special gig at the outdoor venue next summer, steeped in history and character.
The Bury formed band are most famous for songs including One Day Like This and Grounds for Divorce, alongside front man Guy Garvey being a popular personality. Elbow are set to play Castlefield Bowl on Wednesday 2 July 2025, with incredible support acts including Slow Readers Club, making it a Manc day to remember.
Announcing the Elbow tour, the band’s X account posted today: “elbow are pleased to announce a string of outdoor live shows for summer 2025. The run sees the band return to Castlefield Bowl in their hometown of Manchester alongside shows at a variety of iconic venues.”
Elbow played the opening night of Co-op Live in Manchester earlier this year, and the band are keen to be returning to their homeland on the 2025 tour. They’ll also be visiting the likes of Cardiff, Gloucestershire and Warwick, playing unique and characterful venues including castles and arboretums.
Elbow released their tenth studio album Audio Vertigo earlier this year, giving us curated hits that stretch the band’s sound, and debuted at number one in the UK album chart – so we’re expecting bangers old and new at the Castlefield Bowl gig.
