Not to wish the summer away, but we’re honestly pretty excited for cosy autumn activities now. OK, not full-on pumpkin picking just yet, but the autumnal apples are most definitely rearing their heads. To celebrate this age-old sign of autumnal abundance, the gorgeous Dunham Apple Festival is back for season two – and it’s bigger, better and even more apple-filled than ever!
Set in Manchester’s only commercial orchard, the Dunham Apple Festival begins with an interactive apple picking adventure. With assistance from the friendly Dunham Apple Festival staff, you can handpick apples directly from the orchard – this year, every group gets its own basket, and group sizes have been reduced for a more relaxed experience.

The fun doesn’t stop there. You’ll then head to the pressing station where you can press your freshly picked apples into juice – and best of all, taste it there and then. It’s a fun, educational, and interactive experience that’s perfect for all ages, offering a hands-on look at how apples are transformed from orchard to glass.
Kids activities

Once you’ve completed your session, the whole orchard is yours to enjoy for the rest of the day. New for this year is the Apple Character Trail – a fun and improved version of last year’s popular hunt, now with interactive stations, photo boards, and surprises along the way. The Apple Colouring Tent offers a creative space for little ones to relax and get stuck in, while the Bouncy Pad and Tractor Ride return for more outdoor fun.
Adult-only sessions

Dunham Apple Festival has also introduced Adult-Only Sessions with a twist – after your apple picking and pressing experience, you’ll receive a cider tasting board in The Apple Barn to round off the day in true Dunham fashion.
With fresh cakes, wood-fired pizza, craft cider, and apple juice all available from The Apple Barn, it’s a full day out in the countryside you won’t want to miss.
