This spring’s socially distant entertainment.
Now that there’s finally a light at the end of the tunnel, we’re looking to safe and socially distant ways to celebrate our impending freedom. Introducing: the drive-in show. Providing isolated spaces for Mancs to enjoy once the government allows, these extra special events are coming to town – and there’s something for everyone. From sing-a-long events, to live theatre – here are some of the best drive-in experiences coming to Manchester this spring.
Providing ambience, entertainment and the fabulous sounds of Queen, Queen by Candlelight makes for the perfect first outing after lockdown – providing a socially distant setting for fans of the band to enjoy. Taking place at the Trafford Centre, the drive-in event promises incredible performances of some of Queen’s biggest hits, as well as a full bar with food to purchase, your own space by your vehicle to enjoy the show open-air, and an incredible cast of West End performers. Get tickets here.
Step inside Frank-N-Furter’s mansion for a show like no other – where you’ll be treated to an immersive experience with the iconic characters of Rocky Horror. Guests will be able to enjoy the show from their own isolated area for social distancing purposes, where you can sing along to the hits and enjoy the live theatre performance. Tickets are on sale here.
Feeling it after lockdown 3.0? Let it all out at Power Ballads Live – a drive-in event celebrating the greatest power ballad anthems of all time. Hosted by a live orchestra and a number of live rock vocalists, guests can sing and dance along to big tunes such as Total Eclipse of the Heart and Don’t Stop Believing from their own designated space. Get tickets here.
Another great opportunity to sing along til your heart’s content, Can’t Stop The Feeling will take place at the Trafford Centre this April – where guests will get to enjoy some fantastic performances of movie hits from family-friendly films such as Frozen, Moana, Trolls and more. Each car will be provided with their own designated ‘dance space’ to allow for social distancing. Pick up tickets here.
5. Horror Drive-In at ScareCity
Missed ScareCity last Halloween? Horror fans can still enjoy the experience at EventCity, with limited screenings taking place throughout spring. Enjoy movies such as The Conjuring, The Exorcist, Coco, The Blair Witch Project and more from the comfort of your own car – just watch out for the things that go bump in the night while you’re there (live actors will be lurking in the shadows!). Get tickets before they’re gone.
