A dog festival packed with activities for fun-loving doggos is coming to a park near Manchester.
DogFest North will take place at Tatton Park in Cheshire this weekend (June 15 and 16). The event will be hosted by Supervet Noel Fitzpatrick and Clare Balding, and will feature activities for dogs, talks, competitions and live music.
Among the activities will be a doggy-sized tennis court, where dogs will compete to fetch as many balls as possible in 45 seconds and will have the chance to win prizes such as an automatic ball-throwing machine.
All participants will receive special gifts and have the chance to win a spot on the leader board. Once visitors have taken part in the fetch-a-thon, they’ll be able to enjoy a free cold Pimm’s and relax in the Wimbledon-arena, complete with giant hay bale sofas, deck chairs and a doggy ball pool and splash pool.
On the live stage, special guest Clare Balding will be recounting anecdotes from her life and those of her four-legged friends. This year, the Live Stage, sponsored by Bought by Many, will bring an exciting aerobics style Wag ‘n’ Tone routine. Plus there will be some fantastic live music throughout the day!
In the activity arena, conquest-K9’s will display non-stop action with displays of agility, criminal work, 6ft high jumps and spectacular fire hoop jumps. The Pet Detectives Demo is where you can feast your eyes on the world’s first scent-detecting and crime-solving dog in action!
Puppy owners will be able to head over to the puppy zone, which is the perfect place to learn, play and rest with your puppy. The area will be run and staffed by Puppy School, the UK’s leading network of highly-trained and professional puppy classes trainers.
Want to teach your dog everything they need to know in becoming the perfect pup? Head to the obedience ring to learn an abundance of tips and tricks about training your dog. There will be some fabulous masterclasses with Dog Trainer and BGT Finalist, Lucy Heath. She will also be performing in the ring with her gorgeous pup Trip Hazard.
Over in the hound hangout dog lovers will be able to meet some of their favourite dogs of Instagram. There will also be a dogs with jobs feature, which will celebrate the dogs who work incredibly hard across a range of important jobs to help us humans stay safe, protected and happy.
There will also be a fun dog show, a massive dog walk where owners will be able to explore the beautiful grounds of Tatton Park with their furry friend as well as food and shopping opportunities.
