Manchester has always known how to carry feeling through music. A song can bring back a person, a place, or a moment in time, taking us straight into a romance we thought we had left behind. Disney has captured that same connection time and again, where love moves through melody, from Belle and Beast’s ballroom waltz to Aladdin and Jasmine’s flight over Agrabah. At Candlelight: Disney Love Songs, that shared language of memory and music fills Manchester Cathedral as Disney’s most cherished romantic melodies are performed beneath thousands of candles.
Whether your own love story feels closer to Snow White and the Prince, Belle and the Beast, or Aladdin and Jasmine, this enchanting concert invites you to be swept into the music behind some of Disney’s most beloved happily-ever-afters.

What makes Manchester Cathedral so special?
Manchester Cathedral’s history reaches back to 1421, when King Henry V issued a charter that turned the parish church of St Mary into a collegiate church. It became a cathedral in 1847 and has since stood at the centre of countless love stories, with generations of couples passing through its doors to marry. Among them are football star Gary Neville and Emma Hadfield in 2007, and Coronation Street actor Jack P. Shepherd and Hanni Treweek in 2025. Inside, carved woodwork, the medieval quire and vaulted stone details shape the character of the building, creating a magical setting for a concert lit by candles.
What to expect at Candlelight: Disney Love Songs
Disney stories often stay with us long after the credits, and their songs are part of the reason. One familiar melody can return us to scenes that made us laugh, cry, and dream. Over 60 enchanting minutes, audiences can relive those moments through live music, whether these films were part of growing up or the songs are being discovered for the first time. There are currently only two concert dates, September 25th and November 11th, and tickets start from just £20.50.
The programme returns to some of Disney’s most iconic romantic scenes, including Simba and Nala’s blossoming connection in “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” and Jasmine and Aladdin’s flight in “A Whole New World”. Ariel’s story is carried through the tender “Kiss the Girl”, while the deeply moving “Married Life” from Up captures lifelong partnership and the bittersweet fragility of love.
Whether you bring a friend, go with your Prince or Princess, or enjoy your own solo fairytale, Candlelight: Disney Love Songs promises an evening filled with Disney enchantment at the magical Manchester Cathedral.
