A look inside Manchester’s newest luxury hotel.
Owners say Dakota Manchester will bring a touch of Mayfair to Manchester when it officially opens on Saturday (May 18), bringing with it the largest suite in Manchester, a Champagne Room and Cigar Garden.
Situated on Ducie Street close to Piccadilly Station, Dakota Manchester will transform the city’s
skyline, promising a first class service complete with atmospheric spaces, luxurious finishing touches
and waterside views.
Owners say the hotel will house 137 luxury bedrooms, boasting 20 luxury suites – the most in
Manchester. With modern craftsmanship expressed through every detail, the rooms at Dakota Manchester have been created by acclaimed interior designer Amanda Rosa, combining both luxury and style.
At the heart of Dakota Manchester will sit The Dakota Grill, a vibrant neighbourhood brasserie,
complete with waterside views. The Dakota Grill will serve a classically-inspired menu, rich with
seasonal ingredients and flavour – set to be a unique social dining experience. The Dakota Grill
will also offer beautiful private dining areas, available for exclusive use for parties of up to 24.
The hotel’s destination cocktail bar will provide a decadent setting with a drinks list combining
signature classics with bespoke in-house creations, as well as a carefully curated wine list.
Accompanied by the Champagne Room, the first in Manchester, this beautifully designed space is
perfect for intimate drinking, as well as exclusive parties for up to 30 guests.
The Cigar Garden is a purpose-built cigar terrace, designed to bring a touch of old-school Mayfair
to Manchester. A dedicated outdoor space, warmed by gas fires, it will be the ideal spot for cigar
aficionados to enjoy a Cuban or two, paired with the finest collection of premium cognac or whisky.
Classic Rooms, with double or king-sized beds, will feature plush furnishings and powerful rainfall
showers. The Garden King rooms, situated on the first floor, will offer a unique experience complete
with a private garden terrace, chic furnishings and ensuite bath with separate rainfall shower.
There will be two Junior Suites, boasting an 8th-floor balcony, king size bed and ensuite bath with
separate shower. While the Signature Suites provide opulent open living space featuring a super king size bed and a spacious double ‘walk through’ ensuite with roll top bath and separate rainfall shower. And the Executive Suites will be a step-up from the Signature Suite with dual-aspect, waterside views.
For ultimate luxury, the Deluxe Suites will offer supreme comfort on the hotel’s top floor, a real home with open living space, dedicated seating area, plush bedroom with Emperor size
bed, walk-in-wardrobe, ensuite bathroom featuring secrecy glass, roll top bath and separate rainfall
shower.
Set to be the glistening jewel in Manchester’s crown, the penthouse suite, known as the Grand
Deluxe Suite, will be the largest and grandest suite in the city. Offering the ultimate Dakota
experience, the Grand Deluxe Suite is positioned on the top floor of the hotel.
This standout suite will offer both indoor and outdoor space; with a dedicated lounge, dining area, opulent bedrooms, walk-in wardrobe, modern fireplace, ensuite bathrooms with steam showers and a sunken bath. Finished off with a private 8th floor external terrace, with far-reaching views across the city.
Externally, the waterside terrace will also make for an ideal spot for al fresco drinking and dining, also
available for exclusive use for up to 80 guests.
Founder of Dakota Hotels, Ken McCulloch, said:
“The most important thing for me is a hotel that makes you feel special, it’s the finer details that make all the difference. I have only the simplest of tastes. I only want the best. It’s all about the simple things done brilliantly. There’s no place like home, but we’re working on it.”
