Election day is here and if you’re interested in finding out the results after casting your vote then an independent cinema in Manchester has just the event. Streaming the 2024 General Election live on the big screen, Cultplex, located at GRUB in Manchester’s Green Quarter, will be hosting a huge “all nighter” as the results from each of the 650 parliamentary constituencies roll in.
If you’re curious as to which political party could be leading the country and which parties have gained or lost constituencies from across the UK, all your questions will hopefully be answered at this genny lec “all nighter” at Cultplex. Starting from 9.30pm sharp on Thursday 4th July, politics fans can grab a seat at the cinema ahead of the exit polls then follow many, many hours of crushing and dramatic announcements.
A bar fully licensed for the entire evening and early morning, a stocked-up supply of snacks, and “monumental amounts of coffee” will be on offer as the results are beamed live in 4k onto the venue’s full-sized cinema screen. Plus, because one screen is not enough, Cultplex will also have a second screen bringing you all of the memes and hot takes from the internet so you don’t miss a thing.
Aiming to try and keep everyone awake during the dull moments, the event will have its very-own host throughout the night and also plenty of audience interaction planned too. Activities include polls to enter, and optional tasks to complete, like putting in letters of ‘no confidence’ in the presenting skills of the BBC’s political correspondence.
And if you happen to be one of the brave souls counting votes from the General Election at the nearby AO Arena then your first pint is on Cultplex if you want to swing by after your watch has ended.
All tickets to the 2024 General Election “all nighter” event at Cultplex are pay-what-you-can, with 100% of tickets going to The Trussell Trust. Suggested donation is £6 and you can find tickets here.
