Fancy a night at the Rovers Return?
It goes without saying, but Coronation Street is an absolute Manchester institution. On air for a seriously impressive 60 years, the show has stolen the hearts of Brits all over thanks to its relatable characters, ever-dramatic storylines and witty, humorous moments that have become some of the most iconic TV moments in British history. And best of all, it’s been filmed right here in Manchester since the very beginning – now taking up residence at the swanky MediaCityUK.
While previously, fans may have only been lucky enough to catch a glimpse of one of their favourite Corrie actors grabbing a coffee in the local Costa, now, Corrie lovers can actually stay an entire night on the set – in the new, cosy Rovers’ Annexe which has quietly popped up on Airbnb.
Sitting right next to the iconic pub, just a couple of metre’s stumble away to be precise, the brand new Airbnb features room enough for two – giving two lucky fans the opportunity to enjoy the set like never before.
Overlooking the iconic cobbles of the street, the annexe has been decorated with a modern touch, making for a comfortable place to kick back, relax and enjoy some of the very best episodes of Corrie from the past 60 years.
Enjoy a cuppa and a hotpot while reading the Weatherfield Gazette, before heading off on a mini adventure around the legendary set. There, guests will be able to peep inside The Kabin, The Rovers Return, Audrey’s, Fiz and Tyrone’s and more, with Coronation, Rosamund and Victoria Street open for strolling down. Guests will also get to nosy down the famous ginnel, too, which has been the backdrop to many a rendezvous over the years.
While the opportunity may sound like an absolute dream come true to many a Manc, the offer is actually available for one night only – meaning those desperate for the chance to stay on the street will need to act pretty fast to snap up the night’s stay.
Created in celebration of the show’s 60th anniversary and the long-awaited reopening of pubs, the listing will go live on May 26th at 1pm – with just one bookable date available. Due to the anticipated popularity of the offer, previous Airbnb reviews will be taken into consideration to ensure the booking goes to a worthy fan.
Guests must be available on October 2nd for the one-night stay, and you can keep your eyes peeled for the booking opening here.
MediaCityUK also has a number of fantastic new openings gracing the complex this summer, including the brand new Seven Bro7hers beer house and their incredible summer greenhouses – aptly titled Box on the Docks.
