Calling all Mancs near and far in need of a chocolate fix and hit of nostalgia, as one of Greater Manchester’s artisan chocolatiers has brought back their irresistible box filled with limited edition artisan truffles dedicated to some of Manchester’s famous flavours we all know and love.
The Chocolate Café, located in the market town of Ramsbottom, is creating fun, colourful and delicious artisan truffles with the aim of launching a new theme each month. The chocolatiers blend the finest Colombian cocoa with the very best British ingredients to create a range of quality handmade chocolate bars with exciting and innovative flavours.
During the month of September, chocolate lovers could get their mitts on their Manchester-themed chocolates, priced at £16.99 for a box of 12 handmade truffles, with four exciting flavours to indulge in, and after selling out in just a few days they’ve relaunched these once more just in time for Christmas. Gorge on the likes of the Vimto Truffle, a tribute to Manchester’s favourite soft drink Vimto. This truffle is decorated with Vimto’s iconic colours and underneath features a white chocolate truffle filled with a rich white chocolate ganache and Vimto’s very own jam.
It’s not Manchester if there are no bees involved and The Chocolate Café has created the Honey Worker Bee truffle. A nod to the city’s ‘Worker Bee’ symbol this truffle features a milk chocolate shell filled with a dark chocolate ganache infused with local honey.
The Ramsbottom chocolate shop and café is also going back in time with a truffle inspired by the classic custard pie hailing from our wonderful city. Take a blast from the past and indulge into The Manchester Tart truffle which is a white chocolate truffle filled with a white chocolate custard ganache, raspberry jam and a sprinkle of coconut.
True Mancs will know exactly what Uncle Joe’s Mint Balls are and with this limited chocolate box you can take a trip down memory lane. The retro mint sweet originating from Wigan has been transformed into a truffle featuring a milk chocolate truffle shell filled with a smooth dark mint chocolate ganache.
