Heaven has landed on our doorstep in the form of chocolate afternoon tea, cocktails and dogs.
Cocoa Cabana cafe is the latest chocolate cafe to open in the city…and boy, does it look good. (Featured photo: @cocoacabanaancoats)
The original West Disbury cafe has extended its chocolatey empire, opening a new branch on Murray Street, Ancoats.
Sarah Gallacher, founder of the company, trained at the famous Slattery’s Patissier and Chocolatiers, and has since won countless awards for her sweet-tasting, hand-made creations. Go Sarah!
And now, Cocoa Cabana has blessed our lives with a chocolate afternoon tea. For just £17, you can treat yourself to a selection of finger sandwiches, brownies, mousses, chocolate tarts, bonbons, scones, macarons, and your choice of hot drink, all topped off with a pot of salted caramel.
If you’re feeing extra naughty, you can opt for Cocoa Cabana’s signature hot chocolate, with a choice of Nutella, chocolate orange, peanut butter, white chocolate or dark caramel. For an alcoholic addition, add a glass of prosecco for £5, or a house cocktail for £7, with choices including the chocolate martini and dark chocolate and chilli daiquiri.
Can this place get any better? It turns out, it actually can.
For those who don’t fancy a whole afternoon of chocolate (we do worry about you) the menu offers a brunch selection of toasties, bagels, and pancakes, as well as sweet alternatives such as ice cream, cakes and other fresh treats on the counter. Daily vegan options are also available, so no-one has to miss out!
The the fun doesn’t end at 5pm at this quirky cafe. When you’re finally all food-ed out (it does happen eventually) the cafe turns into an elegant cocktail bar, with a delicious selection of cocktails, craft beers and “LOTS of Gin!”
If cocktails and cakes aren’t enough to entice you, we’re sure that Frank the dog, the shop’s insta-famous mascot, will be enough to melt your chocolatey heart.
