Let’s be real, one thing we really do love in the north is a pasty – or a pie, depending on your persuasion – and one place that’s renowned for some of the absolute best is Bolton‘s own Carrs Pasties. Producing some of the region’s finest for over 80 years, Carrs Pasties is a household name not just in Bolton, but all around the North West, and now the iconic brand is expanding outside of its birthplace, into neighbouring Bury.
When will Carrs Pasties Bury open & how can I get a free pasty?
Located between The Rock and The Mill Gate Shopping Centre, Carrs Bury is set to open on Saturday 21st March with a grand opening from 10am. The first 100 customers on the day will receive a free pasty – yes, you read that right, A FREE PASTY. So you’ll have to beat us to it.

Carrs Pasties history
This will be the fifth Carrs Pasties shop. The Original Shop on Halliwell Road in Bolton opened in 1938, followed by the Bakery Shop on Manchester Road, which is also home to Pasty HQ where products are made. The Market Place Shop opened in 2016, and the Middlebrook Store followed in 2023. Carrs Pasties Bury Bakehouse will be the company’s first shop outside Bolton.
What will be served at Carrs Pasties Bury?
The shop will serve the full range of pastry products, including the classic Meat & Potato Pasty, Cheese Pasty, Steak Pasty, Cheese & Jalapeño Pasty, Chicken Curry Pasty, Classic Vegetable Pasty, Sausage Rolls and Lancashire Potato Hash, along with cakes and hot drinks – obviously. Sandwiches and salads will be introduced to the range at a later date, but we think that’s enough to be getting on with for now…
Opening hours for the store will be Wednesday to Saturday, 10am–4pm to begin with, although these may change over time. A Click & Collect service and delivery platforms will also be added in the future.
