There are few artists so iconic that you can identify their songs from just a few seconds of a melody, or a snippet of a lyric. However, Amy Winehouse is definitely one of those acclaimed artists. Her distinctive tones have left a lasting legacy in the jazz and pop worlds. Reintroduce yourself to some of her most loved hits at an Amy Winehouse Candlelight in the city.
Halle St Peter’s imposing columns and arched ceilings will be bathed in the warm glow of candlelight on the night, providing the perfect setting for Winehouse’s songs of love and heartbreak.
Candlelight Tribute to Amy Winehouse
The British singer rose to fame after the release of the multiple Grammy Award-winning album Back to Black. Amy Winehouse stood out from her contemporaries thanks to her authentic and unique jazz voice. Arguably one of the most influential artists of all time, Winehouse was known for her soulful blend of music genres and powerful vocals.
On the evening, local singer Anna Kathryn Lynch will take to the stage in the darkened Halle St Peter’s, ethereally lit with hundreds of candles – the space won’t be completely brought “Back To Black”, don’t worry. Accompanied by a talented band of musicians, Lynch will perform covers of the generation-defining hits “You Know I’m No Good”, “Rehab” and “Tears Dry On Their Own”, as well as others from Winehouse’s catalogue of music.
After having enormous success around the world—in cities like London, Madrid, Barcelona, and Paris—Candlelight brings its unique experience to Manchester to pay tribute to one of the most popular and influential artists in the world. The venue for this Amy Winehouse Candlelight concert, Halle St Peter’s, is a performance space in the heart of Ancoats that was once a church.
There’ll be two performances on the night, one at 6pm and the other at 8.30pm, so you’ll be able to choose a show that suits you best.
Note: For the safety of our audience, all of the candlelight will be provided through flameless candles.
