Campfield Market, a weekly artisan market in Manchester city centre, has announced that it is expanding. After a successful first six months, welcoming more than 50k visitors since opening the doors, Campfield Market is set to expand Manchester street food heroes GRUB’s partnership with St John’s, creating the biggest weekly artisan market in the UK.
The expansion marks a major milestone not just for Campfield Market, but for the wider St John’s neighbourhood, bringing increased footfall, new opportunities for independent businesses and a regular weekly destination to the city centre.

Campfield Market at St John’s: one-kilometre loop of market stalls
Launching on April 18, ‘Campfield Market at St John’s’ will extend beyond the iconic Campfield building and out onto Grape Street, transforming the area into a one-kilometre loop of market stalls, street food and independent retail. The market will be situated amongst other attractions and businesses, including the Museum of Science and Industry, Soho House, Caravan, and Factory International.
What began as the revival of a historic market hall, bringing a market back to Campfield for the first time in over 100 years, has quickly grown into one of Manchester’s most popular weekend destinations. With demand continuing to build, the expansion will more than double the market’s size, scale and overall offering.

Each week, visitors can expect over 100 independent traders spanning street food, local produce, artisan goods and makers, alongside an expanded food and drink line-up. The expansion will connect the indoor market to a new outdoor street market, creating a seamless flow from Campfield into the heart of St John’s, down Grape Street. Independent traders such as Oi Polloi, Sticky Fingers, Suzume, Rack, Joe & Co, Divine Dumplings, Salvis, Mouse Kingdom and many more are set to return as part of the huge new line-up.
Jason Bailey, founder of GRUB, said: “It is absolutely fantastic to see the market go from strength to strength, we’re so lucky to have the best of the best when it comes to traders in this magnificent setting and that Manchester has embraced it. This summer we expect St John’s to become a huge hotspot for day trippers and locals alike.”
