A food and drink festival featuring a host of independent traders is returning to the Greater Manchester town of Bury for its third year this weekend. Visitors to Bury BID Food and Drink Festival can expect a full programme of live music, artisan markets and family entertainment, with over 70 street food traders taking over the town centre.
Taking place from Friday 24th July to Sunday 26th July, the three-day festival will feature a huge Hong Kong Market at Kay Gardens, a ‘beer and bands’ night on Bank Street and a Festival Fringe.

What to expect at Bury BID Food and Drink Festival
Across the three flavour-packed days, Bury town centre will be transformed into a giant festival, with visitors able to enjoy street food from more than 70 traders, drinks from local breweries and independent producers and artisan stalls packed with handcrafted goodies.
Beers and Band on Bank Street
The festival will get underway on Friday 24th July with Beers & Bands on Bank Street from 6pm, bringing together live music, fantastic food and locally produced drinks in the heart of Bury town centre.
Bury Food and Drink Festival markets and live music at The Rock
As the festival swings into action across Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th July there will be a whole host of street food, sweet treats and bakery, drinks, specialty and artisan and family and lifestyle traders located at The Rock including featuring Latin-inspired favourites La Puerta Roja, authentic Turkish cuisine from Istanbul’s Kitchen, award-worthy tacos from El Dorado Taqueria, and authentic NY pizzas from Fratelli Della Pizza as well as The Secret Garden Drinks Ltd, Cocktail Cartel, Mr Whippy and Anna’s Bakery. There will also be a jam-packed entertainment programme including the Emerging Artist showcase with live acoustic performances on The Rock curated by The Met.
Hong Kong Market at Kay Gardens
Kay Gardens will once again host the hugely popular Hong Kong Market, celebrating Hong Kong and East Asian culture with more than 50 independent traders and authentic street food. Visitors can enjoy everything, from traditional Taiwanese fried chicken, dumplings, sushi tacos and noodles to refreshing bubble teas from The Tea Corner. Specialist traders will also include Kayztyle 其一文創, a Hong Kong brand specialising in decorative washi tapes, handmade leather notebooks and iPhone cases.
Bury Market
Bury Market will be open on Friday from 9.30 am to 4.30 pm and Saturday from 9am to 5 pm during the Bury Food and Drink Festival weekend, so festival-goers can stop by and experience all that the award-winning market has to offer. Boasting over 350 independent traders across its outdoor aisles and Fish and Meat Hall, expect an authentic, local market experience with everything from freshly baked cakes, pastries and pies to fresh fruit and vegetable, locally sourced fish, artisan cheese and Bury black pudding.
Festival Fringe
The festival will also feature the Festival Fringe, with local musicians performing throughout the weekend at venues across Bury town centre, including on West Ivy’s garden terrace, performances from Leah B and Ainsley at Broad Street Social, and Boozy Bingo at Racconto Lounge, giving visitors even more reasons to enjoy everything the town has to offer.
Throughout the weekend, visitors can also explore Bury’s thriving cafés, pubs, bars and restaurants, many of which will be offering exclusive festival promotions alongside local beer and drinks experiences.
How to get to Bury Food and Drink Festival
The best way to get to the festival is via public transport. The festival is located right by Bury Interchange where you can get buses and trams to and from Manchester city centre. Bury also has a number of car parks available including ones at The Rock and Mill Gate Shopping Centre
