If you’re looking to sing your heart out then you might be in luck as a new bar with karaoke has come to town. Throw in some finger-licking chicken wings, cocktails and bourbon and you’ll wonder why there hasn’t be something like this in Manchester sooner. Inspired by the cult classic film, Coyote Ugly, Bunny’s Karaoke is a brand new dive bar in Manchester that is guaranteed to light up your night – minus the flames running down the bar!
Bunny’s Karaoke comes from the team behind Bunny Jackson’s, the First Street bar famous around the city for their 25p wings, live music and late night scran, who have taken over the upstairs of the former Lust, Luck Liquor & Burn in the Northern Quarter. Decked out with American flags, tinsel (we know it’s not Christmas yet) and band posters on the ceiling, visitors will be transported to the New York bar from the movie.
You can also expect the drinks to be flowing from the low-lit bar, which boasts a wide range of spirits on the shelves, all of which are entangled by colourful fairy lights, to add to the dive bar effect. As well as stage where you can get up and shout into a microphone, Bunny’s Karaoke also features pool tables with Budweiser lights above them and booth seating where guests can take refuge to sip on their drinks and watch the live entertainment or plan their karaoke song.
On Sundays, Bunny’s Karaoke plays hosts to ‘Tone Death’, a karaoke competition where entrants have the chance to win a £100 bar tab. And if you’re a bit shy and more of a wallflower, private rooms are also available to book at Bunny’s Karaoke with various packages on offer (or your birthday or Christmas party sorted).
And as you’d expect, the famous Bunny’s wings have made an appearance too, with boneless and vegan options now on the menu. Choose from your classic for 25p or mix it up by ordering Buffalo, house BBQ and Nashville hot for 50p. Other wing flavours include Jack Daniel’s honey and mustard, Sailor Jerry’s spiced sesame and Hotter than the sun (which is pretty self-explanatory).
But the fun is not only happening upstairs… Bunny Jackson’s has also ventured into the world of line dancing and live country music by opening a brand new late night spot on the ground floor of the old Lust Luck Liquor and Burn site. Offering the perfect place to let off some steam after your 9 to 5 and have a yeehaw time, you can expect some rootin’ tootin’ tunes.
Think a soundtrack of Dolly, Kacey Musgraves, Johnny Cash and more, with a bit of ‘country disco’ thrown in for good measure. And just like the OG Bunny’s dive bar and upstairs, there will be heaps of 25p chicken wings and a range of signature cocktails. Bunny Jackson’s Country Club is also serving up a selection of burgers and snacks like tater tots, chciken tenders, jalapeño poppers, onion rings, mozzarella sticks and loaded fries.
