A local cafe is offering an extreme solution to warm weather by serving drinks in cups frozen at minus 86 degrees Celsius. Bruncho Cafe claims these are the coldest iced coffees available in the UK, pouring them into heavily frosted vessels pulled directly from an ultra-low-temperature freezer.

The preparation begins at a freezer unit completely lined with thick white ice, where rows of cups sit chilling to extreme temperatures. Staff wearing black protective gloves use specialised red tongs to extract the frosted vessels, placing them onto wooden serving boards before pouring the drinks.

The cafe offers four distinct flavour profiles for the sub-zero beverages. Customers can opt for a traditional iced coffee, plus the menu features green matcha, a brightly coloured blue matcha, and ube, a sweet purple yam, that is finished with a dusting of purple powder.
Only 100 frozen cups are available per day at Bruncho Cafe
Because of the intensive freezing process required to prepare and maintain the cups, Bruncho Cafe caps the production of these specialty drinks at exactly 100 per day. The unusual preparation method and striking visual presentation have drawn steady crowds looking to secure one of the limited daily servings before they sell out.

Beyond the deeply chilled beverages, the cafe serves a variety of substantial sweet and savoury dishes. The food menu includes a loaded dessert plate featuring waffles topped with fresh strawberries, blueberries, crumbled toppings, and an upside-down ice cream cone. For savoury options, the kitchen prepares plates of sliced steak accompanied by a dipping sauce, two fried eggs, roasted cherry tomatoes, and toast. Also featured is a hybrid sandwich built with beef burger patties layered inside a sliced, toasted croissant, served alongside French fries.
Located on Manchester’s longest street, Deansgate, the cafe also provides alternative takeaway options. For those unable to secure one of the limited frozen cups, the colourful blue matcha, green matcha, and ube beverages are also available in tall, sealed cans.
