Container villages have become a staple of Manchester’s creative landscape, following popular hubs like Hatch, Kampus, and Pollard Yard. Now, container village specialists Meanwhile Creative are expanding their footprint with Bromley Yard—a major new development in Manchester’s Victoria North regeneration area.
What to expect

Opening on Wednesday 14 October, Bromley Yard will house over 250 shipping containers, making it one of the largest creative hubs of its kind in the city. Designed as a flexible destination for makers, artists, musicians, retailers, and food and beverage vendors, the project will feature:
- Versatile spaces: A mix of workshops, music units, retail storefronts, and customer-facing venues.
- Budget-friendly “lock-up” studios: For the first time in Manchester, Meanwhile Creative is offering unlined, low-cost containers equipped with basic lighting and electricity—ideal for storage, quick project work, or hands-on studio tasks.
- On-site amenities: Over 60 dedicated parking spaces.
Phased launch schedule

The development will open progressively across three main stages:
- Phase 1 (launching 14 October): Features 80+ containers, including a mix of 20ft units, 40ft units, and lock-up studios.
- Phase 2 (Date TBA): Adds 45+ containers featuring 20ft units and lock-up studios.
- Phase 3 (Date TBA): Expands the site with 100+ additional containers across all size formats.
