We’re very proud of our independent businesses here in Manchester, and when it comes to Black-owned British businesses we’re spoilt for choice. Fortunately, BOBExpo, the largest premium shopping experience for cultural and diverse products and Black-owned brands, is set to return to Manchester for its fifth anniversary!
On Saturday 29 July, this year’s event will be held at the Manchester Suite at Old Trafford, and will feature over 100 Black-owned brands from a diverse range of businesses. The event will be sponsored by Lloyds Bank, with gold sponsor Salford Business School returning for the second year.
Attendees will have the opportunity to interact with business owners, learn more about their goods and services, and make purchases directly from them. Products will include everything from hair, skincare and clothing, to books, toys, jewellery and homeware and gifts, which you can shop whilst soaking up the good vibes from tunes spun by the resident DJ.
The event will kick off with a networking breakfast and business seminars aimed at helping entrepreneurs grow their businesses. There will also be a kids activity day and an Afro hair and beauty lounge showcasing some of the best Black-owned hair and beauty brands.
Founder of BOBExpo, Monique Kufuor, said: “This year is extra special as it’s been five years showcasing Black businesses and the amazing much-needed products and services. So many connections and collaborations have happened for business owners through BOBExpo, and we look forward to more connections.”
BOBExpo believes in the importance of supporting Black-owned businesses in building a strong community. The event provides a platform for entrepreneurs to showcase their products and services, connect with potential customers, and foster collaborations with other businesses.
General admission to the event is free, and you can book tickets here.
BOBExpo will take place at Manchester Suite, Old Trafford, Sir Matt Busby Way, Old Trafford, Stretford, Manchester, M16 0RA.
