Pop into Cosy Club for a cuppa this Blue Monday.
Bad news everyone, today is the third Monday of January, otherwise known as Blue Monday, the most depressing day of the year.
The concept of Blue Monday was first publicised in 2005 by holiday company Sky Travel who claimed to have calculated the date using an equation, so there’s a very strong chance it’s just a marketing ploy. Even so, there’s no denying that things can certainly feel a lot more miserable at this time of year. And we don’t need an equation to figure out why; it’s cold, dark and we’re all skint from Christmas.
With that in mind, the kind souls at Cosy Club in Manchester’s Corn Exchange have come up with wallet-friendly concept that’s guaranteed to warm up it’s customers, even on the coldest of January days. The restaurant will be offering a free cup of tea (to enjoy in or to takeaway) all day today (January 21) for anyone who pops in and quotes ‘Blue Monday’ to the team.
