Those who struggle to juggle pre-drinks and preening can cut out the middle-man at Manchester’s first blowout bar, which promises no scissors, no dyes, just blowdries. And champagne!
The Blowout Kate London opens in Spinningfields today, offering professional blowouts with a side of fizz.
Devised by former fashion creative director and Londoner Kate Nixon, she has revolutionised the salon experience by getting rid of the hideous self-esteem sapping mirrors in favour of a ‘big reveal’ at the end.
Ms Nixon told the MEN that she’s spent the last six months interviewing stylists throughout the UK to put together a team she believes to be the best.
She said:
“I’ve always had a passion for blow drys so I knew I wanted to open a blowout bar, then the champagne element was my own personal twist on it. I love being able to go and have that affordable luxury whether it’s before a business meeting or when you’re getting ready for a night out. I know it’s different to what people are used to, but I’m confident I’ve employed the best stylists, I’ve spent six months travelling across the UK and interviewing to find them, so I want every client to put their trust in us and just be super-wowed by what we’ve done.”
The salon will be open from 7am – 8pm, with prices ranging from £30 – £33 for lookbook styles and a fizzy tipple. There will also be a make-up artist working within the salon on Fridays and Saturdays, so you can go straight from the blowout bar to the actual bar.
