Off the back of a very successful (and huge) Wythenshawe Park gig during August bank holiday weekend, Manchester golden boys Blossoms have just announced a five-night stint of shows in Manchester – each at a different venue in the city within the same week. The band have also promised a whole host of special guests for these equally special shows, and if you’re a fan, trust us, you’ll want to hang around for these intimate gigs.
With the band’s fifth studio album Gary being released this coming Friday (September 20), the announcement of the Manchester dates is music to the ears of adoring Blossoms fans. Blossoms are set to play the Manchester Academy, O2 Ritz, Albert Hall, Victoria Warehouse and Manchester Apollo this November, covering many of the best venues in town – and they would know, they’ve played them all before.
Blossoms announced the Manchester shows in an Instagram post, in which the band said: “Manchester, did you think we’d forgotten you?”
All the dates for Blossoms Manchester shows:
- Tuesday 19 November – Manchester Academy
- Wednesday 20 November – O2 Ritz Manchester
- Thursday 21 November – Manchester Albert Hall
- Friday 22 November – O2 Victoria Warehouse Manchester
- Saturday 23 November – O2 Apollo Manchester
Although the shows will primarily focus on new album Gary, and tunes on there including What Can I Say After I’m Sorry?, we’ll most definitely be hoping for the classics like Blown Rose, Charlemagne and There’s A Reason Why (I Never Returned Your Calls), and given the band’s discussions over on their podcast, The Blossoms Pubcast, we’re pretty sure they enjoy playing the oldies.
The Manchester shows follow the announcement of the other Blossoms UK tour dates earlier this month, which has now largely sold out. The Manchester shows will tie up the tour in a lovely bow, making it a wonderful homecoming for the Blossoms boys.
When do tickets go on sale?
Tickets for Blossoms’ Manchester shows will go on pre-sale for those who pre-order the album on Wednesday 18 September at 9.30am, and will go on general sale on Friday 20 September at 9.30am here.
